ACCOMODATION Accommodation on Hideaway Island is scattered amongst the jungle and tropical plants that cover the island. The style and standard ranges from private oceanside bungalows overlooking the water to quad share dormitories with shared facilities. One Bedroom Oceanside Bungalows All the one bedroom bungalows have spectacular views over the water and are placed to see either the sunrise or the sunset. With interior floor space of approximately 60 square metres, they are more than generously proportioned. The bathroom, living area and separate bedroom all work together to help you make the most of your prime position next to the ocean. Furnishings inside the bungalow include a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities, comfortable sofa setting and table and chairs in the living area. If required there is room for an additional double bed or bunks . Studio Oceanside Bungalows The four Studio Oceanside Bungalows are similar to but smaller than their one bedroom counterparts. All are located on the south-eastern side of the island to catch the prevailing breezes and have a small garden with a hammock so you can laze and overlook the waters of beautiful Mele Bay. Each contains a double bed in a lounge setting, as well as bunk beds if required. Each bungalow has a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Twin Share Rooms Also called twin-dorms, the six twin-share beach units are ideal for the budget conscious couple or single traveler who’d like a little bit more privacy than a standard dormitory offers. Located right on the beach, the lodges are in a prime position for lazing and watching the world go by. They are located in a house-like structure with a wide wrap-around covered veranda with tables and chairs out the front and sides. The rooms are furnished with a double or twin beds, a small cupboard and a hand basin. Separate shower and toilet facilities are close by. Quad Share Dormitory At Hideaway there are six quad-share dormitory rooms. These rooms are ideal for the budget conscious traveller who mix and meet people during their stay, or for groups wanting a relaxed trip away together. All the rooms contain two sets of bunk beds and a clothes locker. Outside there are several common sets of tables and chairs outside for the use of dormitory guests. Separate shower and toilet facilities are close by. BEACH RESTAURANT & BAR The food served up in our recently renovated “On the Beach” bar and restaurant is just one thing that keeps our guests coming back here year after year. Where else can you sit with your toes in the sand overlooking beautiful coral reefs and crystal clear tropical waters while enjoying first rate food served up by a chef who’s worked around the world, but now calls Vanuatu home. A real local character, Bruce is as likely to share his humour with you as he is his food. Either is a real treat, and if you can get both, you’re bound to have a great night. SCUBA DIVING Hideaway Island has a reputation for being a relaxed paradise for divers and snorkelers alike. Where else in the world can you roll out of bed and be SCUBA diving in less than 15 minutes. We have more than 15 dive sites all within 15 minutes of the shore. We run scheduled single tank dives at 8:30am, 10:30am and 2:00pm every day, regardless of the number of divers going out. Your surface interval can then be spent just relaxing on the beach.
